56 INFANTRY DIVISION TROOPS CONTINUE MEDICAL CAMP FOR VISION IMPAIRED PEOPLE

Extending the human generosity, troops of 56 Infantry Division, as continuation the series of Eye Clinics the 7 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment troops organized an Eye Clinic at Pandri Kethakulam school premises on 02 June 2024 with the aim of assisting visually impaired people at Puliyankulam area.

366 visually impaired patients were benefited undergoing eye checkups, and 138 reading glasses were provided in first stage of the programme. Furthermore 45 patients were forwarded for Cataract Surgeries under the evaluation of eye specialist doctor. Additionally, refreshments were served to those who were screened at the medical camp.

The programme was launched with the generous contribution of Doctor Velayudam Sarveshwaran, Secretary of Assist Renaissance and Resettlement Organization and the event was conducted under the guidance of Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc,General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division.

Deputy General Officer Commanding Brigadier WSV Fernando USP ndc IG, Colonel (Coord) of 56 Infantry Division, Civil Affairs Officer 563 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer 7 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Staff of Assist Renaissance and Resettlement Organization and residents in the area participated in the programme.
