TERMINATION OF THE BATTALION TRAINING COURSE OF THE 12TH BATTALION THE VIJAYABAHU INFANTRY REGIMENT

As the direction of Army Headquarters and Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, the Battalion Training Course No. 36 of the 12th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment was conducted at Battalion Training School, Alankulam from 18 March 2024 to 10 May 2024. The course comprise with 08 officers and 407 Other Ranks.

The curriculum at the course included lectures and practical sessions on map reading, counter-insurgency operations, internal security, fighting in build-up area, live firing, Unarms Combat, Swimming and life serving, Field visit to 14th Rocket Regiment and Introduction Artillery Guns, Field visit to Engineers Brigade and introduction of Bombs, Explosives. Further, the presentation on “Operation Jayasikuru“ was conducted by a team of 12th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment prior to battalion training at 1930 hours on 03 May 2024.

The closing remarks of the course were done by the Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) with the participation of General Officer Commanding of 57 Infantry Division and 56 Infantry Division, Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), Commander 562 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks. During the awarding ceremony, the following officers and Other Ranks were awarded trophies:

Best Section - First Section of 1 Platoon,C Company

Best Student - Lance Corporal Herath HCK

Best Shooter - Lance Corporal Herath HCK
