21 INFANTRY DIVISION MARKS ITS 36TH ANNIVERSARY

The 21 Infantry Division proudly marked its 36th anniversary on 04 April 2024, celebrating its pride history with a series of events lined up under the guidance of Major General H H K S S Hewage, the 21 Infantry Division's General Officer Commanding.

Prior to the anniversary, troops organized a community outreach programme at the Kubichchankulama Lake Jogging Path, as well as a friendly cricket match between division branches. Meanwhile, on April 1 and 2, 2024, All-night 'Pirith' chanting and almsgiving were held to invoke blessings on the division, army, and all troops.

On the anniversary day, in accordance with military traditions, General officer commanding 21 Infantry division, Maj Gen H H K S Hewage RWP RSP USP rcds psc was honored with a Guard turnout and a Guard of Honour presented by 7(V) SLAC troops. Later, he posed for a group photograph, followed by an All Ranks lunch. As dusk fell, a musical evening entertaining the troops got underway in the premises as the culminating feature of the anniversary events.

Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of 21 Infantry Division participated in these celebratory events.
