Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) proudly commemorated its 26th anniversary under the direction of Major General WPADW Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu on 18 March 2024. In line with the anniversary, number of events had been organized with the involvement of troops in Wanni.
The Commander of Security Forces, Wanni, was honored by the 7th Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment with a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour, underscoring the significance of military customs. Subsequently, the Commander, Security Forces Wanni, attended the group photograph and planted a sandalwood sapling inside the headquarters premises as a symbol of memory. Afterwards, the Commander, Security Forces Wanni, addressed the troops, followed by an all ranks lunch.
To Celebrate the 26th anniversary Security Force (Wanni) arranged inter-divisional tug-of-war, volleyball, and cricket competitions amongst all under Command infantry divisions and Log Command (Wanni). The senior officers of Security Force Wanni , officers, and members of all ranks participated in a spectacular musical event that took place in the evening to celebrate the 26th anniversary day.
