The Commander Security Forces (Wanni), Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, paid his first official visit to 59, 64, 68 Infantry Divisions, under command Brigades, Battalions and Forward Maintenance Area (Mullaittivu) on 16 and 17 January 2024.
The General Officer Commanding 59 Infantry Division Maj Gen W M P M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding 64 Infantry Division Major General M S Dewapriya USP ndu and General Officer Commanding 68 Infantry Division Major General S Kasthurimudali RSP ndc psc, Brigade Commanders of 591, 592 , 593, 641, 642 and 681 Infantry Brigades, Staff Officers of 59, 68, 64 Infantry Divisions, and the Commanding Officers extended a warm welcome to the Commander Security Force (Wanni) on arrival by presenting ceremonial honours at the entrance.
Further, a saplings was planted on the respective Divisions premises to commemorate the visit and appeared for a group photograph with the Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) with Field Commanders and Staff Officers of respective Divisions. Thereafter, Commander Security Forces (Wanni), Visited to Navatkulam Tempe Premises.
Meanwhile, a comprehensive briefing was done in relevance to the operational and administrative tasks carried out by the respective Divisions by the General Officer Commanders. Finally, Brigadier Administration and Quartering, Colonel General Staff and General Staff Officer I of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) also joined with the official visit in order to receive an update on the operational and administrative functions of the under command Division formations.
