The road near the Bogoda Bridgewas inundated with water upto 3 feet with the opening of the sluice gates of Nachchaduwa tank due to the heavy rainfall. With the guidance of the commander 213 infantry brigade, troops of 5th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard provided transportation support to civilians to cross the road by using boats. This adverse weather condition continued from 21 December 2023 to 23 December 2023 and the necessary assistance and guidance was provided to civilians until the situation became normal.
