TERMINATION OF THE BATTALION TRAINING COURSE OF THE 4TH GAJABA REGIMENT

As the direction of Army Headquarters and Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, the Battalion Training Course No. 34 of the 4th Gajaba Regiment was conducted at Battalion Training School, Pampemadhu from 10 October 2023 to 23 November 2023. The course comprise with 08 officers and 292 Other Ranks.

The curriculum at the course included lectures and practical sessions on map reading, counter-insurgency operations, internal security, fighting in build-up area, live firing, Unarms Combat, Swimming and life serving, Field visit to 14th Rocket Regiment and Introduction Artillery Guns, Field visit to 2 Mechanized Infantry Regiment and introduction of Mechanized vehicles, Introduction, Role Task and equipment of Sri Lanka Air Force, and Introduction of Signal Equipment's. Further, the presentation on “Riviresa Operation“ was conducted by a team of 4th Gajaba Regiment prior to battalion training at 1930 hours on 22 November 2023.

The closing remarks of the course were done by the Commander, Security Forces (Wanni) with the participation of General Officer Commanding of 54 Infantry Division and 56 Infantry Division, Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), Commander 561 Infantry Brigade, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks. During the awarding ceremony, the following officers and Other Ranks were awarded trophies:

Best Company - B Company.

Best platoon - First Platoon of B Company

Best Section - First Section of 2 Platoon,C Company

Best Student - Major R S S Ranaweera RSP GR

Best Shooter - Infantryman Cooray T K M G D M
