The Thawarakkulama tank bund in Asikulam agrarian services department was damaged due to heavy rainfall on 12 November 2023. There are 105.49 acres of land, which is cultivated by this tank, and there was an urgent need for repairing of this tank bund immediately. Hence, prompt action was taken by General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division and directed the troops took 213 Infantry Brigade for the repairs of the tank bund. There the Commander 213 Infantry Brigade Brig M K D P Mapalagama psc and the Commanding officer 2 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Major R M K B Rathnayaka RSP along with 01 x 30 of troops participated for this repair work which was able to reconstruct the tank bund at a short time. Villagers of Asikulam were highly appreciated for the dedicated service of the troops of Sri Lanka Army.
