COLONEL BYC FERNANDO RWP USP ASSUMED OFFICE AS THE 11TH COMMANDER OF THE 541 INFANTRY BRIGADE

A formal ceremony was taken place to mark the assuming of the office of newly appointed Commander 541 Infantry Brigade Colonel BYC Fernando RWP USP on 26October 2023 as the 11th Brigade Commander.

As the first segment of the ceremony, the incoming Brigade Commander reviewed the Guard Turnout presented on arrival at the Headquarters premises and he was welcomed by the Civil Affairs Officer, Commanding Officer of10 (V) GW. Then Colonel BYC Fernando RWP USP assuming of office and auspiciously took over the duties amid the religious observances. Subsequently Mango sapling was planted the premises of headquarters office complex followed all rank tea and troop address organized at the Other Ranks’ Mess at 541 Infantry Brigade. During the troop address he expressed his vision. Commanding Officers and Brigade troops attended the ceremonial event and they extended best wishes to the new Brigade Commander.
