562 INFANTRY BRIGADE DONATED BOOKS AND STATIONARY ITEMS FOR 150 STUDENTS IN VAVUNIYA DISTRICT

The 562 Infantry Brigade of the 56 Infantry Division under command to the Security Force Headquarters-Wanni with the patronage of the People's Bank Buddhist Association distributed packs of school books and stationaries among 150 needy school students studying at Vavuniya Atabagaskada Vidyalaya, Agrabodhi Vidyalaya, Mahakachchikudi Vidyalaya, Bogaswewa Vidyalaya and Neduklam Primary school on 23 August at Sri Swarnathilakaramaya – Mamaduwa.

The ceremony was graced by the General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division Major General HGPM Kariyawasam RSP ndc psc IG as the chief guest, together with the Commander 562 Infantry Brigade Brigadier TMSJ Tennakoon RSP, the Commander 561 Infantry Brigade Brigadier KMG Bandaranayake USP psc, the President of People’s Bank Buddhist Association, Mr. Rohan Perera, and other key officials from People’s Bank, Deputy Educational Zonal Director R Weerasinghe, Commanding Officers from under command battalions, Senior Officers, Other Rankers, Principals, and Teachers from beneficiary schools also participated for the occasion. The event was colored by the students’ verities and terminated after tea party with all participants.
