Major General I A N B Perera RWP USP ndu psc of the Sri Lanka Army, Gajaba Regiment, assumed duties as the 37th General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division, under the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), amid religious blessings and formalities at the 21 Infantry Division Headquarters in Ranasewapura, Anuradhapura on 24 July 2023.
The newly appointed General Officer Commanding, 21 Infantry Division, was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers and saluted in a Guard Turnout, presented by troops as he entered the premises, before a Guard of Honour saluted him.
The new General Officer Commanding assumed the office and auspiciously took over the duties amidst religious observances. A group photograph was taken to mark the event. Subsequently, an aamla sapling was planted. Finally, he addressed the troops and expressed his vision for the Division in the future.
The programme was concluded by an all ranks tea in front of the Division Headquarters premises. Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the 21 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present during the day's event
