SECURITY FORCE ( WANNI ) OFFICERS LEARN ABOUT THE MILITARY IN INTERNAL SECURITY OPERATIONS (MISO)

Facilitating the most required military in Internal Security Operations (MISO), a workshop was conducted by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation to enhance the knowledge pertaining to the aforementioned subjects in Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) on 24 April 2023 and 25 April 2023 under the guidance of Major General C D Ranasinghe RWP RSP, the Commander Security Force (Wanni) with the instruction of Directorate of Human Rights and international humanitarian Law Army Headquarters.

The two-day workshop delivered by Mr. Albert Schoneveld - ICRC FAS Regional Delegate, Ms. Verena Neundtr - ICRC PGE Regional Delegate, Mr. Channa Jayawardene - ICRC FAS Delegate, ICRC Colombo, and Mr. Alexander Burov - Head of Office, Vavuniya.

The session was blended with lectures, case studies, and exercises. There were 54 officers who participated in the two day workshop, and Brigadier Pradeep Gamage, Brigadier General Staff, give away the mementos as a token of appreciation to the representatives of the ICRC delegation.
