DISTRIBUTION OF MILK POWDER PACKS TO ENSURE THE FOOD SECURITY AND NUTRITION IN VAVUNIYA DISTRICT

Fonterra Brands Lanka has donated 69102 milk powder packs to distribute among needy families in solidarity with government initiatives to ensure food security and nutrition. The Green Agriculture Operations Center (GAOC), as the leading stakeholder in this government initiative to ensure food security and nutrition, has coordinated the distribution of milk powder packs through district coordinators of the Green Agriculture Operations Center (GAOC) in liaison with district and divisional secretariats.

In consequence of this, the distribution of 6000 milk powder packs among 3000 beneficiary families in Vavuniya District took place in conjunction with a symbolic ceremony held at the District Secretariat Auditorium on 24 December 2022. The ceremony was attended by nearly 200 beneficiaries from all communities in the Vavuniya District.

The ceremony was organized by the 562 Infantry Brigade along with 17 (V) SLSR battalion.
