To develop the fighting power of the Infantry, it requires enhancing a physical component and combat power by increase the manpower, equipment, training and readiness. In present day context military training is paramount important for maintain operational readiness. The Commander Security Force (Wanni) with a view of to improving combat readiness of Officers and Other Ranks serving the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) conduct a Special Reserve Platoon Course at 56 Infantry Division Battalion Training School in Pampaimadu.
The opening address of the Special Reserve Platoon Course - No 02 took place on 22 Aug 2022in the presence of Major General C D Ranasinghe RWP RSP, Commander SF (W) as the chief guest.
The course syllabus has included lectures and practical sessions on handling of GPS, Self Defense Methods, Unarmed Combat Methods, VIP Protection, Introduction of Explosives and Demolition, Handling of Weapons, Live Firing, Rules of Engagements, Special Operation Procedures, Principles of War and Internal Security. This course is being followed by (05 X 151) troops of 21, 54, 56, 62 and 65 Infantry Divisions who under command to Security Forces (Wanni).
