65 INFANTRY DIVISION AOR TROOPS SHARED LUNCH WITH PEOPLE

Buddhists all over the world celebrates the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day today (May 15). Buddhists across the world commemorate the significant events of Siddhartha Gautama's birth, enlightenment (Nibbana), and passing away (Parinirvana) on the Vesak Full Moon Poya Day.

However the Covid 19 pandemic and the present economic crisis have made a huge impact on almost every sector of the AOR such as agriculture and livestock, welfare, etc. As the true guardians of the nation, sharing the real meaning of peace and harmony of the religious festival with the direction of General Officer Commanding of 65 Infantry Davison Major General K A Samarasiri RWP RSP USP psc and under the supervision of Commanders 651, 652 and 653 Infantry Brigades troops of 65 Infantry Davison, Brigades and 10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 24 Gajaba Regiment and 17 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry Battalions conducted a distribution programme of lunch packets for hospital admitted patients, hospital staff and low income families in 65 Infantry Division area on 15 May 2022 and 340 x lunch packets were been distributed.
