SPECTACLES DONATION PROGRAMME FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE CONDUCTED IN 54 INFANTRY DIVISION AOR

With the noble concept of General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division Major General UD Wijesekara RWP RSP USP rcds psc, and with close supervision of Colonel TC Harasgama RSP Commander 543 Infantry Brigade, 4th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment troops organized a Spectacles donation programme for 253 visually impaired people in the eye clinic of District General Hospital Mannar, on 07th May 2022 at Regional Health Service Director Office Mannar. Mr. Ravi Rajapaksha provided the financial contribution from the United Kingdom with the coordination of Mr. Sasanka Mendis of Colombo Orient 306/ B-2 Lions club.

GOC 54 Inf Div, Comd 543 Inf Bde, Col Coord 54 Inf Div, senior officers, Junior officers, and Mr. Sasanka Mendis of Lions club, Dr. Ravi Pachchai of DGH Mannar, Dr. S Nishanthi Kethiswaram from eye clinic and 50 visually impaired people participated for the programme.
