A Sinhala medium school was a long felt need of the people of Kondachchi Sinhala vijayagama village located in 8th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment area deployed under 542 Infantry Brigade. As such, making the Kondachchi Sinhala Vijayagama village people’s aspirations a reality, a new school with the infrastructure facilities was built by the troops of 54 Infantry Division through the admonition of Chief Incumbent, Wilpattuwa Vijayathilakarama Mahawilachchiya Vimala Thero with the financial assistance from Mr. Kosala Paththinige and Sisu Sewana Organization. Accordingly, the newly constructed school was vested for the public on 30th January 2022 at the ceremony organized by the troops of 8th Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under the close supervision of Commander 542 Infantry Brigade,
Further, In line with the opening ceremony of newly constructed school, 160 Nos of 5 kg rice packs were distributed among 160 law income families living in Kondachchi, Sinhala Vijayagama, Kayakkuli and Kondachchi villages.
The most Ven. Eethelawetunawe Gnanathikahidana Mirisawetiya Chief Incumbent, Northern Province Governor, Divisional Secretary - Mannar, Major General (Retd) Ubaya Medawala, Education Secretary - Northern Province, Director Education - Northern province, Provincial Directors, Commander 542 Infantry Brigade, DIGs of Anuradhapura and Vavuniya Divisions, the Government Officials and Mr. Kosala Paththinige along with some officials of the Sisu Sewana organization attended the ceremony.
