11th Battalion the Gemunu Watch troops repaired the spill of Weherathenna tank before damage the tank bund due to heavy rain on 26 November 2021 with the request made by block manager Weherathenna – Mahaweli system ‘L’. The campaign was conducted under the direction of General Officer Commanding 62 Infantry Division Major General Upali Gunasekara and the instruction of Commander - 623 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Rohan Medagoda and, with the supervision of Commanding Officer 11 GW Lt Col Prasad Karunarathne and with the participation of 11 GW troops and villages.
