The compassionate thought of skilled Wanni troops to provide decent shelters to homeless civilians resulted in the construction of house.
19 SLLI troops constructed a house and supervision of Major General Anil Samarasiri RWP RSP USP psc ,General Officer Commanding – 65 Infantry Division and Brigadier Wasantha Bandara RSP, Commander – 651 Infantry Brigade.
19 Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops of the 651 Infantry Brigade, provided much needed technical and engineering manpower for the construction expeditiously under the supervision of the Commander of 651 Infantry Brigade within a very short period.
Commander of 651 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Wasantha Bandara handed over key of house to beneficiaries of Mrs. Muththu Kumar Yaseeda. After simple house warming ceremony, dry ration packets also distributed among 10 low income families in area by the Chief Guest.
Commander - 651 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Wasantha Bandara, Commanding Officer – 19 SLLI , Major K Asanka, Senior Officers, family members and troops who built the houses were also present during inaugural ceremony, adhering to health formalities.
