As per the direction given by Major General Upali Gunasekara, General Officer Commanding 62 Infantry Division a Sramadhana campaign had conducted by the troops of 5 (V) Battalion the Gajaba Regiment under the 623 Infantry Brigade and, with the supervision of Major Dammika Herath – Commanding Officer 5 (V) GR at Ritigahawewa on 17th October 2021.
The aforesaid programme was organized together with 01 × 50 troops from 5 (V) GR, 37 x members from farmer’s society – Ritigahawewa, and they cleaned the Ritigahawewa Tank bund length of 1200m which provide water for 200 acres of paddy field during the Maha season which facilitate for 90 farming families .
