SRAMADANA CAMPAIGN HELD AT 62 INFANTRY DIVISION

As per the direction given by the General Officer Commanding 62 Infantry Division - Major General Upali Gunasekara, a Sramadhana Campaign has been conducted by the Troops of the 9th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment under the 622 Infantry Brigade at Kiriibbanwewa on 7th October 2021. The aforesaid programme was organized together with 40 x Troops from 9 GR, 16 x Buddhist monks from Kiriibbanwewa Darma Pradeepa Piriwena, Grama Niladari of Kiriibbanwewa, Unit Manager of Mahaweli Authority - Kiriibbanwewa, Project Engineer - Mahaweli L Zone, 40 x members from farmers society - Kiriibbanwewa and cleaned the Kiriibbanwewa “D” canal “Goda sorouwa” length of 1.5km to facilitate farmers during the Maha season.
