A tree-planting programme to plant 2000 Kubuk saplings was held on 07th October 2021 under the patronage of General Officer Commanding - 62 Infantry Division, Major General Upali Gunasekara to coincide with the 72nd anniversary day of the Sri Lanka Army. The programme was held at catchment area of the Padaviya tank with the participation of Brigadier Keerthi Parakum- Commander 621 Infantry Brigade, Maj Nimesh Liyanagama CO 14 (v) SLLI, Mr Raliyudeen- Divisional Secretary Padaviya, Mr KR Herath - Residential project manager - Mahaweli L Zone, Mr SPBSA Shantha - Assistant Irrigation Engineer - Padaviya, Mr NC Dissanayeke - Wildlife Officer Padaviya, Mr L Manoharan - Forest Officer Padaviya and more than hundreds of troops under 62 Infantry Division. Further, Troops have been assigned the task of growing those tree saplings until maturity.
