DISTRIBUTION OF DRY RATION PACKETS AMONG THE LOW – INCOME FAMILIES IN 54 INF DIV AOR

The 542 Infantry Brigade of the 54 Infantry Division donated dry ration packs for 45 low income families in Ihala vijayagama, Kondachchi area on Tuesday 17 August 2021 as another welfare activity to uplift the stranded of low income families in the village.

Financial contribution for this event was provided by the Sweshini Organization, United Kingdom with the close coordination of Mr Ravi Rajapaksha. The event was organised and coordinated by the 542 Infantry Brigade and 8th Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division Major General Darshana Wijesekara. With the blessings of the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Hemantha Bandara.

Colonel Coord 54 Infantry Division, Colonel Jagath Premadasa, Civil Affairs Officer Lieutenant Colonel Amitha Mangala, Commanding Officer 8th Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Major Sarath Keerthirathne, Senior Officers and Officers attended the programme as well.
