DISTRIBUTION OF DRY RATION PACKETS AMONG THE LOW – INCOME FAMILIES IN 65 INF DIV AOR

The 653 Infantry Brigade of the 65 Division donated dry ration packs for 50 low income families in Tachchanamarutamadu, Madhu area on Wednesday 01 Sep 2021 as another relief measure of Securty Force (Wanni) due to the COVID-19 travel restrictions which compelled them to stay indoors.

financial contribution for this event was provided by the Sweshini Organization, United Kingdom with the close coordination of Mr Ravi Rajapaksha. The event was organised and coordinated by the 653 Infantry Brigade and 24th Battalion of Gajabha Regiment under the supervision of the General Officer Commanding 65 Division. With the blessings of the Commander Securty Force (Wanni) Major General Hemantha Bandara, the General Officer Commanding 65 Infantry Division Major General Anil Samarasiri participated in distributing these dry ration packs from house to house of the civilians in need.

Commander 653 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier Sudantha Fonseka, Commanding Officer 24th Battalion of Gajabha Regiment, Major Indika Silva, Senior Officers and Officers of 653 Infantry Brigade attended the programme as well.
