The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General D M H D Bandara RWP RSP USP as the Overall Coordinator of Prevention of Covid - 19 in the District of Vavuniya presided the coordinating conference on 09 August 2021 at the District Secretariat Office - Vavuniya with the participation of District Secretary (Acting) - Vavuniya Mr T Thiresh Kumara, DIG Vavuniya Division, Regional Director of Health Services and other government officials.
The purpose of the meeting is to co-ordinate the proper mechanism to control fast spreading of Covid-19 pandemic with the health sector, police and government official in the district. The Regional Director of Health Services Dr. Mahendran briefed the situation emphasizing the importance of adhering to health instructions in order to prevent the rapid spreading of the virus among the community. Thereafter the Commander Security Force (Wanni) further given instructions to head of the department to adhere to the health guidelines given by the health authorities and restrict all unnecessary moments.
Further he informed that, it is needed to enhance the capacities of existing Intermediate Care Centers and request assistance from District Secretary (Acting) - Vavuniya.
