A sapling planting programme, launched by the 56 Infantry Division on 29 July 2021 at either side of A-9 road in front of 56 Infantry Division in parallel to the “Thuru Mithuru Nawa Ratak” project which was introduced by the Commander of the Army. This project was conducted under the direction of the General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division Major General A A D N S P Dunuwila RWP RSP USP with the assistance of Green Forest Association - Athurugiriya
The Executive Director - Green Forest Association, Mr Harindra Yasas Serasinghe has contributed around 400 saplings and the progarmme coordinated by the General Manager - Edna Group of Companies, Mr Gajaba De Silva and the Civil Affairs Officer - 56 Infantry Division, Lieutenant Colonel W K A S Priyanthalal RWP RSP.
