In view of alleviating hardship faced by civilians due to Covid 19 pandemic and travel restriction imposed, distribution program of dry ration and essential items was conducted among the needy families living in 653 Bde area on 23 June 2021 at the Kirisuddan school. The program was conducted with the guidance and presence of the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General D M H D Bandara RWP RSP USP and the General Officer Commanding of 65 Infantry Division Major General D M T B Dissanayaka RSP USP.
The donation program was sponsored by “The Second Coffee International”, a charity for the welfare of the needy people in Sri Lanka, which members consist of professionals from all over the world. The 24th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment also contributed in donating ration packs to make the event success. The event coordinated with the assistance of 24th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment under the direct supervision of Commander 653 Infantry Brigade Brig GHS Fonseka USP psc.
46 x Dry ration packs were donated among beneficiaries selected from general area Kirisuddan. The event conducted under the guidelines stipulated for prevention of Covid - 19 Pandemic.
