The newly appointed General Officer Commanding 62 Infantry Division Brigadier D P U Gunasekera RWP USP IG made his first official field visit to under command Brigades and Battalions. He made his first field visit to 622 Brigade on 02 April 2021 located at Halambawewa. General Officer Commanding was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality at the entrance and was warmly welcomed by the Brigade Commander Colonel BGS Fernando USP psc. Afterwards, the Brigade Commander briefed the visitor on Operational Matters and deployment along with admin matters. Later General Officer Commanding spoke his mind to Officers and Other Ranks and visited 622 Infantry Brigade under command battalions, 9 GR and 20 GR Battalions and their deployment.
On 03 April 2021 General Officer Commanding visited 623 Infantry Brigade located at Wediwettukallu. The visitor was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality followed by the briefing of the Commander 623 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier GP Kodituwakku RWP RSP, all COs and a troop address. After familiarizing with the Brigade, General Officer Commanding visited 11 GW, 5 (V) GR Headquarters, Battalion Training School and Key points.
Concluding his field visits, General Officer Commanding made his final visit on Tuesday (06) to 621 Infantry Brigade located at Welioya. The General Officer Commanding was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality at the entrance and was warmly welcomed by Commander 621 Infantry Brigade Brigadier KKS Perakum RWP RSP followed by the briefing of the Brigade Commander, CO 14 (V) SLLI and Troop Address. Later General Officer Commanding visited 621 Infantry Brigade’s under command 14 (V) SLLI Battalion Headquarters.
