BRIGADIER D P U GUNASEKERA RWP USP IG ASSUMED DUTIES AS 10th GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF 62 INFANTRY DIVISION

Brigadier D P U Gunasekera RWP USP IG assumed duties as the 10th General Officer Commanding at the 62 Infantry Division amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the headquarters on Thursday, 01April 2021.

The newly appointed GOC of 62 Infantry Division was warmly welcomed by all Brigade Commanders and division Staff Officers and honored in the Guard Turnout presented by troops of 11th Battalion the Gemunu Watch.

Afterwards, he was invited to plant a sapling as a gesture of memory. Later on, he placed signature in the first official document to mark his assuming of duties, amidst chanting of seth pirith in presence of senior officers.

Later he addressed all rankers of Div staff and spoke his mind followed by an all ranks tea. Division Officers and Other Rankers ware present during the address.
