Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) was inaugurated its 23rd Anniversary with a series of events from 16 to 18 March 2021. Commencement of events was started with the series of games, religious activities and terminated with an All Ranks with the presence of All Officers, Other Rankers and Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Hemantha Bandara RWP RSP USP.
Coincide with the anniversary Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) was conducted cricket, volley ball and badminton tournament with the participation of Officers and Other Ranks in order to build up the solidarity and cooperation of the officers and the Other Rankers. Competition winners were awarded with trophies by the Commander Security Force (Wanni).
To celebrate the 23rd anniversary by giving priority the religious observances Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) was organized a pirith chanting ceremony on 16 March 21 with a alms giving for 20 Buddhist monks following day morning. Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers of under command Battalions with large number of Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present at the occasion.
On 18 November 2021 celebrations commenced with offering floral tribute at the fallen war heroes’ monument, by the Commander Security Force (Wanni).
By Addressing troops, Commander Security Force (Wanni), expresses his sincere gratitude to the past commanders who was contributed to build up the Security Force (Wanni) headquarter and detailed out the progress made during the past year including various events organized to enhance reconciliation as well to uplift the livelihood of underprivileged people in the area and finally he wished everyone success in all future endeavors.
As per the concept of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Hemantha Bandara RWP RSP USP 50 medicinal plants were the Planted by all Ranks prior to the 23rd anniversary of Security Force headquarters (Wanni), subsequently, the Chief Guest appeared for a group photograph in front of the main Office Complex with all participated Officers of and Other Ranks.
As the culmination of the celebrations, an all rank lunch was organized at the pte mess with the presence of Brigadier General Staff & Brigadier Administration and Quartering of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) and Commander Security Force (Wanni) With precise pomp maintaining formal military traditions and highest standards.
