TREE PLANTING FOR THE 73rd INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION

With the instruction of the Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) Major General D M H D Bandara RWP RSP USP, with the guidance of General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division Major General A A D N S P Dunuvila RWP RSP USP, in supervision of the Commander 563 Infantry Brigade Brigadier K P A Perera RSP and, in collaboration with the Vavuniya Forest Conservation Department, 1000 trees were planted in commemoration of 73rd independence day on 4th February 2021 in Pirappanmaduwa village. The Forest Conservation Department provided trees. The event arrangement was made by the Commanding Officer 7th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment along with 05 x 75 troops from 7th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 02 x 50 troops from the 21st Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.

Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni), Ven Lindawewe Amarajothi Thero and representative priests of Hindu, Islam and Muslim religions, Brigade Commander 563 Infantry Brigade, Navy Base Commander Punewa, Colonel General Staff of 56 Infantry Division, Divisional Forest Officer and the Range Forest Officer of Vavuniya Forest Conservation Department, Civil Affairs Officer of SFHQ (Wanni), Air Force Radar Squadron Commanding Officer Vavuniya Base, Civil Affairs Officer 56 Infantry Division, Commanding Officer CSD, Commanding Officers of 7 SLSR, 16 SLSR, 21 SLSR, OIC Mamaduwa Police Station, two principals of Bogaswewa and Mahakachchakodiya school along with 25 school children, Grama Niladhari of Prappanmaduwa village and the villagers of Pirappanmaduwa village participated in this occasion.
