The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General W L P W Perera RWP RSP ndu has been appointed as the Overall Coordinator of Prevention of Covid - 19 in the District of Vauniya by the presidential secretariat. The coordinating conference was held at the District Secretariat Office - Vauniya at morning hours on 12 January 2021 with Regional Director of Health Service, Government Office bearers, Wholesale traders and Members of the Parliament in Vauniya District with officers of the Tri Forces.
During the meeting District Secretary Mr SM Saman Bandulasena - Vauniya addressed the conference stating that his views and recommendations for controle the Covid - 19 situation in the District specially in Vavniya city area. Regional Director of Health service Dr Mahendran briefed the situation at present in Vavniya city and suburb. Further he emphasized the impotence of adhering helth instructions to prevent the rapid spread of the decease among the community.
Finally the concluding speech was conducted by the comd SF(W) and let the GA to proceed with rest of the conference and decided to lockdown the high rick areas after getting the result of recently conducted PCR tests.
