COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (WANNI) VISITS MANNAR TO ASSESS STAND BY MEASURES TAKEN BY 54 INFANTRY DIVISION AGAINST CYCLONE 'BUREVI'

Major General WLPW Perera RWP RSP ndu, Commander SF (Wanni) visited 54 Infantry Division area of responsibility to assess stand by measures taken by 54 Infantry Division against the cyclone storm 'Burevi' through Mannar area.

More than 700 families were affected with the cyclone and they have been evacuated to safe places. The displaced personnel were accommodated in safe locations until the situation get normalized to Sittivinagar College, Pallemunei St Lusia College, Shanthipuram Church and Eluthur Mother Theresa School. The Security Force Commander (Wanni) visited these places on 03 December 2020 to inspect their accommodation facilities.

General Officer Commanding 54 Division Major General Indrajith Bandara RWP RSP USP ndu, Commander 543 Infantry Brigade Senior Officers of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), Senior Officers of 54 Infantry Division and Bn Commanders of 543 Infantry Brigade also participated to the visit.
