56 INFANTRY DIVISION COMMEMORATE THEIR 23RD ANNIVERSARY WITH THE BLESSINGS OF RELIGIONS

The sequence of forthcoming 23rd Anniversary of 56 Infantry Division religious ceremonies, commenced Friday (2) evening Islamic religious prayers at Jummah Masjid Mosque, Vavuniya, organized by the 56 infantry Division invoked blessings on the forthcoming commemoration of the 23rd Anniversary. Saturday (03) Customary Hindu spiritual blessings were invoked in the evening at Ran Kovil, Vavuniya, organized by the 16 SLSR and Sunday (04) a special Catholic Flag-Blessing observances in St. Anthony's Church Vavuniya, organized by the 21 SLSR.

General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division, Major General Wasantha De Abrew RWP RSP USP Hdmc psc graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, Brigade Commanders of 561,562 and 563 Brigades, Commanding Officers of all under command units in 56 Infantry Division, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks and Civil Staff together with a representative gathering of civilians in the Vavuniya District.
