Poson festival 2020 in 54 Division Mannar Under taken Series of religious events were organised by the troops of 54 Division Under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 54 Division, Major General Indrajith Bandara RWP RSP USP ndu, troops of 54 Division by giving priorities to ‘Amisa Pooja’ and ‘Prathipaththi Pooja’.
All the events were conducted according to the preventive measures of COVID 19 issued by government health authorities.
The first event, was newly constructed two ‘Bhudddha Mandira’ and two Bhuddh status were bestowed by the chief incumbent of Mathota Rajamaha Viharaya Ambagasawewa Sangharakkhitha thero, with the invitation of GOC 54 Division To mark the Occasion a ‘Dharma Deshana’ also has been conducted by the chief incumbent.
Moreover, the tps of 54 Div HQ arranged an Special Lunch for 25 children in ‘AnneiIllam’ orphanage, Uppukulam, Mannar. Furthermore, under the guidance of GOC 54 Division, 7 Vijayaba Infantry Unit also arranged an alms giving for 35 elders in ‘Shantham’ Elders’ house in Mannar.
Bodhi Pooja was conducted in the evening by Venerable Panduwasnuwara Wimalarathana Thero the chief incumbent of Mannar Warnabimbarama Viharaya at Manuwehera temple in 54 Div HQ with the participation of all officers and other ranks of 54 Div.
