On the directions of the Chief of Defense Staff and Commander of the Army, Security Force Headquarters Wanni established new Quarantine Center at Pompemadhu, Vavuniya operatational, to accommodate Sri Lankan expatriates arriving from Italy and South Korea. These expatriates will be quarantined for two weeks of time at this Center.
The Pompemadhu Army camp was temporarily acquired for this purposes by the Commander Security Force Wanni Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri ndu psc, and upgraded with all facilite available with the army to the optimum level in assisting to this emergency project.
213 expatriates arrived from Italy and South Korea reached the quarantine Center on 13 March 2020 at 1830 hrs which included 44 Families with 79 Males, 87 Females and another 47 Children.
The Commander Security Force Wanni Maj Gen Rohitha Darmasiri ndu psc and all Officers of SFHQ Wanni are highly committed in assisting this emergency project by means of coordinating and provision of other facilities.
