A donation programme of distributing essential school items for students at Weherathenna Roshan Mahanama Primary School was taken place on 11 January 2020.
The programme was organised by troops of 621 Brigade under the guidance supervision of Commander 621 Brigade Colonel AP Wickramasekara USP psc and of General Officer Commanding of 62 Division Major General Dhammika Jayasinghe.
Over 150 students comprises a group of nursery students who are scheduled to start their primary education in this year and another group of students commenced their secondary education were benefited through this programme and it was sponsored by veteran cricketer Mr Roshan Mahanama, Mrs Renuka Balasooriya under the social welfare project of ‘Wijerama Foundation’.
The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri ndu psc graced the event as the chief guest while members of ‘Wijerama Foundation’ made their presence as guests of honour.
General Officer Commanding 62 Division Major General Dhammika Jayasinghe, Commander 621 Brigade Colonel AP Wickramasekara USP psc, Senior Officers of Headquarters 62 Division and 621 Brigade, teachers, students along with their parents too were present at the occasion.
