Brigadier K A N N Koswatta RWP RSP assumed office as the new Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) in an auspicious time on 19 December 2019.
He succeeds Brigadier H P Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndc who has been appointed as the new Director Operations of Army Headquarters.
Brigadier K A N N Koswatta RWP RSP is from Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and has held numerous important appointments during his military career in Command, Instructor and Staff appointments at various levels. Within the Battalion he has held Platoon Commander, Company Commander, Battalion Second in Command and Battalion Commander appointments. In Command status out from the battalion, he has performed as Brigade Commander of 572 and 121 Brigades.
In his instructor capacity, he has served as the Officer Instructorand Officer Commandingof Sri Lanka Military Academy as well as the Commanding Officer of Army Training School in Maduru Oya and Deputy Commandant of Infantry Training Centre in Minneriya.
His career as a staff officer has been exemplified by holding appointments as General Staff Officer I of 64 Division, Colonel General Staff of Office of the Chief of Defence Staff and 14 Division. Brigadier K A N N Koswatta RWP RSP has served as the Deputy Senior Security Coordinating Officer of Army Headquarters.
Before appointing as the Brigadier General Staff in Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Brigadier K A N N Koswatta RWP RSP has served as the Deputy Commandant of Infantry Training Centre Minneriya.
