As a concept initiated by the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, series of awareness programmes on sexually transmitted diseases are being conducted in all military establishments in island wide. These programmes have been launched coincide with the World AIDS Day which was on 01 December 2019 and scheduled to be conducted until 06 December 2019.
In that context, under the directions of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri ndu psc, an awareness programme on sexually transmitted diseases was conducted at Headquarters of Security Force (Wanni) on 04 December 2019.
Over, 400 troops enthusiastically took part in the lecture session which was conducted by Public Health Officer of Field Military Hospital Security Force Headquarters (Wanni). There, troops were made aware on preventing from sexually transmitted diseases especially from HIV.
