Troops of 62 Division assisted to organize a “Katina Pinkama” on 11th and 12th November 2019 at the Bodhirukkharama Viharaya, Aliwanguwa with the guidance and the supervision of General Officer Commanding 62 Division, Major Genral Dhammika Jayasinghe.
The Perahera was taken place with the aim of venerating the sacred robe (Katina Cheewara) coloured and prepared by villagers. When culminating the procession, a Bodhi Pooja programme was conducted at the temple followed by a Pirith Chanting Ceremony till 12th morning with the presence of Maha Sangha. While on this programme, meals were provided for civilians who participated in this event.
Culminating the event, alms for Maha Sangha were prepared and given on 12th November 2019 at temple premises with the participation of Officers of Headquarters 62 Division, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Officers and number of Other Ranks from under command Battalions.
