In line with the National Tree Panting project themed “Wana Ropa” Sri Lanka Army has planned to organise several tree planting campaigns inside the camp premises of all military establishments island wide from 21 to 31 October 2019. In that context, troops of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) conducted a tree planting campaign on 24 October 2019 under the guidance of the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Jagath Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc.
Over 100 “Kumbuk” saplings were plantied at the camp premises of Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) under this campaign.
The Brigadier General Staff Brigadier Harendra Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndc together with Brigadier Administration and Quartering of Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) Colonel Jayanath Randeniya planted the first two saplings commencing the tree planting programme and all staff members of the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) followed him by engaging with this event.
The planted sapling will be closely looked after till they grow some extend to suit for hard climate conditions.
