The 1st Regiment Military Intelligence Corps successfully conducted Basic Intelligence Course for Officers and Other Ranks in Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) under the supervision and guidance of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Jagath Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc keeping with the concept initiated on Unit Intelligence Duties by Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc
The main purpose of this course is to enhance the knowledge regarding the important of the awareness of information and the intelligence requirement to take the necessary decisions.
The courses were consisted with a practical sessions and theorital parts such as Basic Intelligence, Intelligence Cycle, Interrogation, Surveillance, Security,etc.
These courses were conducted under three phases.
a. First Course for Officers - From 29 July 2019 to 10 August 2019
b. Course for Other Ranks - From 20 August 2019 to 31 August 2019
c. Course for Other Ranks - From 30 September 2019 to 14 October 2019
Altogether 30 Officers and 238 Other Ranks successfully completed the Intelligence Basic Course at SFHQ (W).
