Taking another step forward for the housing project launched by Security Force (Wanni) under the supervision of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Jagath Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc, the foundation stone for a new house for Mr K B Asanga Pradeep Bandara at Elayapaththuwa was laid on 05 October 2019.
Mr K B Asanga Pradeep Bandara with his five children was undergoing lot of hardships which constrain them to build even a primary shelter to reside his destitute family. Setting as example to others, two philanthropists from Australia Mr Eddie Robinson and Mrs Gayle Robinson sponsored to construct a new house for this destitute family and this great charity was coordinated by the Commander 212 Brigade Colonel Anil Peiris RSP USP psc through his personal affiliation.
Construction of this house was under taken by troops of 5 Sri Lanka National Guard with the guidance of Commander 212 Brigade Colonel Anil Peiris RSP USP psc and under the supervision of General Officer Commanding 21 Division Major General Kumar Jayapathirane RSP.
Giving a prime place to religious observances the foundation stone for constructing this new home was auspiciously laid by the Commander 212 Brigade Colonel Anil Peiris RSP USP psc gracing as the Chief Guest in a brief ceremony.
During this ceremony, Sisters of St Bridget Convent, Colombo 07 donated few school items and dry ration packs for the children of Mr K B Asnaga Pradeep Bandara and another two families living in Thanthirimalei area.
Senior Military Officers of Headquarters Security Force (Wanni), the Commanding Officer of 5 Sri Lanka National Guard and family members of beneficiary along with number of civilians in the village were present at the ceremony.
