SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (W) STARTS A REFRESHER COURSE FOR CIVIL AFFAIRS OFFICERS

Sri Lanka Army is now functioning in a peace time context spearheading and contributing number of civil military coordinating activities to strengthen the rapport between civilians and the military while being led to make a solid foundation for the reconciliation and ethnic harmony among all communities.

With that aim, the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Jagath Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc initiated to commence a refresher course for Civil Affairs Officers performing duties at Division, Brigade and Battalion levels under Security Force (Wanni).

This course was commenced on 05 September 2019 at the Headquarters Premises of Security Force (Wanni) with the presence of 35 student officers representing all formations under command to Security Force (Wanni).

The General Officer Commanding of 56 Division Major General Puraka Senevirathne VSV USP ndu made the opening address of the course gracing the occasion on behalf of the Commander Security Force (Wanni).

The course will be launched for 15 working days and all student officers be made aware on enhancing the knowledge on Civil Military Coordinating and many subject areas through lectures, question and answering sessions, syndicate discussion and some practical sessions.

The Civil Affairs Office of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) has planned to facilitate student officers on relevant subject areas through organising lecture sessions which are scheduled to be conducted by some university lecturers, senior military officers, government authorities and many other intellectuals.

The Colonel General Staff Lieutenant Colonel GBWMRKR Bandara RWP RSP, Chief Civil Coordinating Affairs Officer Lieutenant Colonel SWSPAWMRJSB Ratwatta RSP along with staff officers of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) made the presence for the opening address of Civil Affairs Refresher Course for Officers.
