As continuation of Social welfare activities initiated by the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Jagath Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc, troops of Headquarters 21 Division with the directions of General Officer Commanding 21 Division Major General Kumar Jayapathirane RSP organised a programme on 15 August 2019 in order to donate spectacles for selected group of civilians having eye defects.
The financial sponsorship for the programme was made by Vidya Shivaloganadhan fund with the coordination of Mr Nandalal Malagoda and veteran actrese Mrs suwineetha Weerasinghe.
Over 300 civilians in Anuradhapura and suburbs were benefited through this charitable event organised at the Headquarters 21 Division throughout the day and this donation programme was coordinated by the Civil Affairs Office of Headquarters 21 Division.
The General Officer Commanding 21 Division Major General Kumar Jayapathirane RSP made his presence for the programme as the chief guest.
The Commanders 211 and 212 Brigades, Senior Officers of Headquarters 21 Division and its under command formations and large number of civilians too were present at the occasion.
