WANNI INNOVATIONS -2019

As one of the major events to excel the innovation skills of the troops under Security Force (Wanni), the Wanni Innovations Exhibition – 2019 was taken place with the participation of 21, 54, 56, 61, 62 Divisions and Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) on 26 and 27July 2019 at the Public Ground Padhavi - Parakramapura.

This exhibition was basically organized on account of enhancing innovating skill theme as in view of finding new ways of technology, technical ability of troops under Security Force (Wanni) area of responsibility and it was consisted 36 exhibition stoles.

The exhibition was inaugurated with the presence of the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Jagath Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc. Three Innovations out of thirty six were awarded prizes and certificates after a fair judgment by Research Analysis Proposal Branch Colonel SD Udayasena RSP and Senior Lecture University of Rajarata Mr. Pubalasundaram Ingaran and the Senior Lecture University of Rajarata Mr G Sasikesh who represented the Judge Board. First place was awarded to Lance Corporal Weerasinghe K D from 2 Engineers Services Regiment for his innovation of Air Power Generator approaches while Second and third places were awarded to Lance Corporal Jayathilaka UGWN from 15 Gamunu Watch for his innovation of Speed Signal System and Lance Corporal Rathnasiri MGPK 14 Sri Lanka Light Infantry for his innovation of Automatic Vehicle Checker .

This mega event was organized with the supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 62 Division Brigadier J M U D Jayasinghe.

The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Jagath Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc along with General Officers Commanding of 21, 54, 56, 61, 61 Divisions, Commander Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers several Senior Officers, Officers representing all under command formations to Security Force (Wanni) Officials of several Government Institutions, students from many schools nearby areas and large number of civilians were present at the occasion.
