SECURITY FORCE WANNI PLANTS 45,000 TREES

Commander Security Force Headquarters Wanni, Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, has planned to plant 45,000 trees as a continuation of “Ranaviru Haritha Arana” the Island wide tree planting campaign conceptualized by Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General N U M M W Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC in the area of Security Force Wanni.

The mega event is scheduled to commence at the most venerated Holy Madu Church premises coordinated by General Officer Commanding 61 Division Brigadier K D C G J Thilakarathne RWP RSP. Simultaneously 45,000 saplings will be planted in Anuradhapura, Vavuniya, Mannar, Welioya and Pulmuddai areas. Mostly “Mee” trees will be planted mixed with other edible plants such as Indian Bael (Beli), Sour Sop (Katu Anoda), Mahogany, Mastwood (Domba), Jack (Kos), Bullet-wood tree (Munamal), Baheda (Bulu), Arjun Tree (Kumbuk), Siris Tree (Mai Mara), Kaha Penala, and Prana Jeewa.
