Troops of 61 Division organised a special programme on 22 March 2019 to mark the Thripitakabhinandana week in line with the national ceremony to name the Thripitaka, the most sacred written composition of devout Buddhists in all over the world.
This special religious programme was organised under the instruction of Directorate of Personal Administration and with the careful supervision made by the General Officer Commanding of 61 Division Brigadier K D C G J Thilakarathne RWP RSP.
During this noble event, a Dhamma sermon was conducted by five venerable theros. Subsequently a presentation and documentary video about the Thripitaka were presented.
The General Officer Commanding of 61 Division Brigadier K D C G J Thilakarathne RWP RSP, the Commander 611 Brigade Brigadier L D S S Liyanage RSP USP psc Hdmc, Senior Officers, Officers and number of Other Ranks participated in the event.
