62 Division in coordination with Headquarters Security Force Wanni, and in collaboration with Hemas Green Club launched a tree planting project on 23 February 2019 in Welioya. This project was launched under the Direction of General Officer Commanding 62 Division Brigadier Dammika Jayasingha and under the Supervision of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu Tree Planting Programme namely “Thruliya Wenuwen Apa”. Under this programme nearly 300 samplings of Jack, Cashew and Pomegranate Saplings were planted beside the Welioya – Parakramapura main road, and nearly another 250 plants were distributed among civilians in the area.
The Tree Planting Project was organized by the 621 Brigade, The General Manager Communication and Sustainable Development of Hemas Holdings PLC /Executive Director, Hemas Outreach Foundation Mrs, Shiromi Masakorala The members of Hemas Green Club along with the Officers and Other Ranks serving under 62 Division participated in the tree planting ceremony.
