Troops of 5 Battalion Gajaba Regiment under command to 543 Brigade organised a donation campaign on 13 February 2019 to distribute essential school items for students of needy families living in Pesalai area.
Over 65 Sinhala and Tamil students undergoing plenty of hardships in obtaining their education were gifted with valuable sets school items.
Two great philanthropists Mr. Robert Howcost and his wife MrsVinomaKolam living in United Kingdom financially sponsored in providing these essential school items.
The donation programme was organised under the supervision of Commander 543 Brigade Brigadier ThilakHangilipola RWP RSP.
The event was graced by General Officer Commanding of 54 Division Brigadier SenerathBandara RWP RSP ndu as the chief guest.
Senior Officers of Headquarters 543 and 54 Divisions attended at the occasion.
